Gourmands search for flavors to invigorate their taste buds regularly. For some, its an unobstructed obsession; for most, its just how we distinguish the indulgent treat from bland mush. When it comes to something like snacks that are equal parts modest and decadent, popcorn is an enticing forerunner. Why? Here is the secret: it is a snack that plays well to taste makeovers. Popcorn decorating is a fun DIY culinary project: pop it in nano-seconds, add in your favorite candy or mixtures, and customize with everything from hot sauce to caramel drizzle as a finishing touch. It is safe to go outside the margin (think edible art.) It is much more fun and liberating that way especially on a night curled up on the couch, with the TV aglow with some machismo-laden, “gotta get the girl” flick propelling your adrenaline rush.
