Addition Equals Subtraction: Minus5 Ice Bar Comes to NYC

Since opening it doors to Las Vegas glitterati in 2008, Minus5 Ice Bar has chiseled a reputation for innovation. It is the America's first ice bar anchored at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. With such a winning combination, it is no surprise that the owners want more.

 

In comes their newest idea: duplicate the same lofty formula in the Big Apple. They will launch a new location at the flagship Hilton New York in March. The 2,500-square-foot space will be awash in arctic accoutrements. The bar, tables, walls and even the New Zealand-shipped custom glasses will be 100 percent ice. 

 

World-class ice sculptures will stand beside intricate, hand-craved pieces. To brave that -5 Celsius chill, guests can borrow modish parkas, boots and faux fur hats. It is chic meeting cool. 

 

Here are some signature benefits: touring guests can obtain printed photos, and purchase stylish venue gear. In addition, they will have premium vodkas, beers and other fine spirits.
